Everything you need to get your Big Ballot Bin up and running:
Yes, we can produce custom RAL colours, vinyl wraps, and waste stream messaging – all are available on request.
Dimensions: 1410mm (H) × 872mm (W) × 525mm (D)
Weight: 135kg
The Big Ballot Bin contains two 120L bin caddies – providing a total capacity of 240L.
Yes, the bin is sealed around all edges using advanced welding techniques (MIG/TIG), with its electronics and flip dots protected inside. The powder-coated exterior and AP120 Primer give extra protection against rain and rust.
It features a simple plug-and-play setup, connecting to standard mains power (230V, 50Hz) to run the sensors, flip-flops, and electronic modules.
In the unlikely event of a fire, the power trips automatically to shut it off. You can also add a fire-suppressing brick to your order for an additional £150.
The bin can be placed indoors or outdoors, as long as it’s connected to mains power. It comes weighted to stand securely on its own, but can also be bolted down (fixings not included) if desired.
The bin is easily emptied unlocking the front door using a standard triangle bin key (which will be provided). Once the door is opened, you’ll find two 120L bin caddies inside – they can be slid out for ease of access. The bin bags inside the caddies can be emptied and replaced. It can then be cleaned if needed and locked up again safely. It’s a very simple process that we’ve seen aligns well with standard maintenance procedures.

We’re proud that all bins are manufactured in the UK, and every bin sold supports the work of our environmental charity, Hubbub, where we’re making sustainability second nature.
Last year alone we inspired someone in the UK to take action on the environment every 9 seconds! Find out more about our work and how we partner here.
The body of the bin is made from mild steel, which is fully recyclable and can be repurposed through scrap metal recycling. The other parts can be repurposed or recycled through the appropriate waste streams.
Take your bin to a local recycling centre once it’s reached the end of its life. If you’re in the UK, you can find your nearest centre here.
