These Terms and Conditions apply to purchases of both the Ballot Bin and the Big Ballot Bin. Please read carefully before placing your order. These Terms and Conditions apply to sales to business customers only. By ordering either product, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Product Details and Specifications
1.1 Ballot Bin
The Ballot Bin is a customisable ashtray designed to reduce cigarette litter.
Specifications include:
- Steel body with transparent front window
- Lockable, removable inner tray
- Wall mountable (fixings included)
- Dimensions: 467mm (H) × 395mm (W) × 132mm (D)
- Weight: approx. 7.8kg
- 3.3 litre capacity
- Supplied with key and fixings
Customisation options include your own colour and logo.
1.2 Big Ballot Bin
The Big Ballot Bin is a customisable voting bin, which has been shown in trials to reduce waste by up to 70% (supporting data available on request).

Customers can also customise the bin’s colour and add vinyl wraps for branding. By providing any artwork, logos, copy or other materials, the customer warrants that it has all necessary rights, licences and permissions for Hubbub to use those materials for the purpose of supplying the products. The customer shall indemnify Hubbub against any third-party claims arising from such use.
2. Ordering and Payment
2.1 Ballot Bin
- Orders can be placed via the Ballot Bin website or by invoice.
- Payment is due within 5 working days of invoice date.
- Online payments are accepted by credit/debit card.
- Orders are confirmed once full payment has been received.
- All prices are exclusive of VAT and delivery unless expressly stated otherwise.
- Title to the product passes to the customer upon receipt of full payment. Risk in the product passes on delivery.
- We may charge interest and fixed-sum recovery costs on overdue invoices in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- We do not accept partial payments.
2.2 Big Ballot Bin
- For general sales, payment is due at the time the order is placed.
- For enquiries, payment is required once the order has been confirmed and agreed with our team.
- Prices exclude delivery.
- All prices are exclusive of VAT unless expressly stated otherwise.
Title passes upon receipt of full payment; risk passes on delivery.
We may charge interest and fixed-sum recovery costs on overdue invoices in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- Any customs or import fees are the responsibility of the customer.
3. Lead Time and Delivery
3.1 Ballot Bin
- Orders are usually dispatched within 2 weeks of payment.
- Delivery times may vary depending on demand and destination.
- Delivery dates are estimates only.
- The customer is responsible for ensuring the delivery location is accessible and suitable for receipt of the products.
- Shipping costs are excluded from product price.
- Buyers outside the UK are responsible for any import duties, taxes, or customs fees.
3.2 Big Ballot Bin
- Typical lead time: 6 weeks from payment.
- Orders placed in November and December 2025 are expected to be delivered by the end of January 2026.
- A limited release with earlier delivery will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, while stocks last.
- Delivery costs are excluded from the product price.
- Any customs or import duties are the customer’s responsibility.
- We aim to notify customers promptly of any unexpected delays.
- Delivery dates are estimates only.
- Unless expressly agreed in writing, the customer is responsible for installation, safe siting and ongoing maintenance, and for ensuring any mains power supply and fixings comply with local laws and site policies.
4. Cancellations, Refunds and Returns
4.1 Ballot Bin
- Once an order has been confirmed, cancellations will not result in a refund.
- If the product is damaged in transit or not as described on delivery, the customer must notify us in writing within 7 days of delivery with reasonable evidence (including photos). We will, at our option, repair, replace or refund the affected product. This is the customer’s sole and exclusive remedy for defects on delivery.
4.2 Big Ballot Bin
- No refunds will be given unless the product is defective. If the product is defective on delivery or stops functioning within two (2) weeks of delivery other than due to customer fault or misuse, the customer must notify us by email at ballotbin@hubbub.org.uk with details and evidence. We will, at our option, repair, replace or refund the affected product.
- Defect notifications must be submitted by email to ballotbin@hubbub.org.uk.
- Return shipping costs are to be paid by the customer.
- Refunds, where approved, will be processed within 14 working days of receiving the returned item.
- The product includes a 6-month warranty covering damages not caused by the customer.
- Where a return is agreed due to our defect, we will provide return instructions. Return shipping costs are payable by the customer unless the return is due to our defect.
5. Warranty and Maintenance
5.1 Ballot Bin
- No formal warranty is provided. However, we aim to provide reasonable support for product maintenance issues please contact us if you experience any fault. This is without prejudice to section 4 (Cancellations, Refunds and Returns).
5.2 Big Ballot Bin
- The Big Ballot Bin includes a 6-month warranty from delivery date for any faults not caused by misuse or accidental damage.
- This warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship.
- It does not cover damage due to improper installation, modification, or neglect.
- Where a defect covered by this warranty is reported during the warranty period, we will, at our option, repair or replace the product (or the defective part) within a reasonable time. This warranty does not cover consumables, cosmetic damage, or defects caused by improper installation, modification, neglect, vandalism, weather or site conditions beyond our control.
6. Connected services (smart tracking)
Where the Big Ballot Bin includes smart tracking or remote access features:
- Hubbub provides access to the connected service on a reasonable endeavours basis and does not guarantee uninterrupted availability;
- the customer is responsible for providing power and connectivity required for the features to operate;
- Hubbub may deploy updates or changes to the service from time to time; and
- data collected is processed in accordance with section 8 (Privacy and Data Protection).
7. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to the foregoing:
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, loss of profits, loss of data or loss of anticipated savings; and
- our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any order shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the product(s) giving rise to the claim.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Your personal data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws. We only use your information to process your order, deliver your products, and provide after-sales service and connected services.

9. Amendments to These Terms
We reserve the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions at any time.
Changes will be published on this page and will take effect immediately upon posting.
10. Force majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation strikes, lockouts, industrial disputes, failure of a utility service, transport network or telecommunications, acts of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, accident, breakdown of plant or machinery, fire, flood, storm or default of suppliers or sub-contractors.
11. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the order confirmation and any documents expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede all prior agreements, understandings or arrangements relating to its subject matter.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
